Vacancies in Gloucester Scouts
Scouting offers young people (both boys and girls) the chance to have fun, learn new things and to develop new friendships. It provides exciting activities and games and opportunities to gain badges and awards. Through Scouting, young people can acquire the skills and knowledge that can be used for the rest of their lives. Being a volunteer in Scouting can be incredibly rewarding, it can also enhance your CV and provide charity trustee experience.

Beaver, Cub and Scout Leaders: 45th Gloucester (Abbeydale) Scout Group
This is an ideal opportunity to make a difference to the lives of young people, through a structured activity based programme. The positions are challenging and exciting with many rewards along the way.
The group is based in the Abbeydale area and has three very successful units of Beavers, Cubs & Scouts. It is part of Gloucester District, the largest District in the county of Gloucestershire. The group is financially stable with a strong executive committee and a good supply of equipment.
We are looking for people aged 18 to 65, who have a few hours to spare at weekends and on Tuesday nights in term time. Above all, you need enthusiasm and an interest in working with young people. A sense of humour is also very useful!

Explorer Scout Leaders: Gloucester District
Explorer Scouts (14-18 year olds) have the opportunity to take part in a wide range of adventurous activities. They can participate in the Platinum and Diamond Awards and the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme. They can also become Young Leaders, helping adult leaders to provide Scouting in the other sections – Beavers, Cub and Scouts.
We are looking for adult leaders and helpers to run and support the Explorer Unit in various locations in Gloucester. You can offer as much or as little time as you can spare as we require people to run evening programmes, monthly training events or even just someone who can keep records for administrative purposes. We’re also looking for an Awards Adviser to promote and aid both Explorers and Leaders through both Scouting Awards (Platinum and Diamond) and D of E awards schemes.
For more information, please contact Gareth Edwards, District Explorer Scout Commissioner on 07946 411559 or Fill out The Joining Form and we will be in touch.
