Gloucester District Cub Scout Fun Day

Well what a Fun Day! Cubs from all over Gloucester met at Cranham Scout Centre for an action packed day of activities. Half the day was spent on the main site doing activities including Caving, Coconut Shy, Badge Making, Campfire Cooking, Horseshoe throwing and some Craft Activities with the other half of the day in Daniel’s Grove taking part on the Challenge Course, making Key rings, the Stick game, Mission Impossible style course and of course getting wet with the Ducks!

Many thanks to Heather (Assistant District Commissioner Cubs) and her team for planning a great day.

Celebrating success!

Chief Scout Silver Presentation Award
40 Cubs were invited to attend the Chief Scout Silver Award presentation at the Mayors Parlour in the North Warehouse Gloucester Docks.
31 Cubs attended with parents. They were greeted by Lise Noakes, our president, and introduced to the Mayor Neil Hampson and the Sherriff Siad Hamsdot.  The Cubs were shown the robes and hats the Mayor wears then they had the opportunity to try them on and have photos taken.
The Mayor and sheriff presented the certificates to the Cubs and parents were given the chance to take more photos. Following on from the Cubs receiving their certificates the Cub leader had great pleasure in presenting Lise Noakes with a Chief Scout Commendation. Sandra Williams was also awarded with her bar to the Medal of Merit for nearly 50 years in scouting. It’s not only the young people who get awards.
It was a great evening with lots of photos taken, some of which can be found on the District web site in the gallery.
